Cartography

This community comprises a significant number of maps, plans and views of ancient and modern cities from around the world, where particularly noteworthy are those of the Basque Country.

Tomás López de Vargas Machuca, the leading light of Spanish cartography of the 18th century, is widely represented with maps and plans, most of which are of Spain and its provinces, the possessions of the military orders and American colonies, along with maps of all the continents and of the most important countries of Europe..
